We appreciate and thank Dr. Goel for showing great interest in our article 1 and clarifying some of the issues related to the chordae tendineae and their insertion to the mitral valve leaflets. As Dr. Goel has pointed out, (and we are in agreement with it) it is known that the chordae tendineae arising from the antero-lateral papillary muscle and postero-medial papillary muscle insert on to the corresponding halves of the mitral valve, which include both anterior and posterior mitral leaflets. We would like to draw the attention of Dr. Goel and other readers to the fact that the article has been published with the main intention of providing a transoesophageal echocardiographic picture of the phenomenon, which is relatively rare in the literature. The inclusion of 'an unusual presentation' in the title has been inadvertent.[1]
